Position Overview

The primary function of the Maintenance Technician is to do routine maintenance on company vehicles and equipment. Repairs will be on all types of company and customer equipment. This includes trucks, contracting equipment, arrow boards, message boards, and other small trailers. Will also be doing parts running, shuttling trucks, and general housekeeping. The majority of time will be spent in the shop with the occasional need to go out into the field.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining Arrow board and Message board trailers and boards.
  • Maintenance on other small haul trailers.
  • Light maintenance on delivery trucks.
  • Ensure all equipment is in safe operating order by inspecting the vehicle for defects.
  • Troubleshoot and repair vehicles and equipment including electrical wiring, tire repair and tire changes, etc.
  • Ensure that all manufacturers' required maintenance has been completed and documented per company policy on a work order.
  • Maintain proper documentation on the equipment repair and ensure that maintenance files are organized and well maintained.
  • Ensure that all equipment files contain repair history to ensure compliance with internal and external audits.
  • Track time and costs spent on equipment repair.
  • Conduct themselves in a manner that promotes a professional atmosphere, and ensures that the service encounter with the customer is an exceptional experience
  • Follow all company and job site safety rules and regulations
  • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, masks, and ear plugs as required, and when applicable, a respirator.
  • Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • You are reliable. You have a history of consistently coming to work on time, ready to go.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building relationships with team members inside and outside of the organization.
  • You become Flagger Certified (we can train and certify you)
  • You are willing to learn and willing to jump in and help.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed indoors/outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions / varying temperatures, e.g., exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, dry, and/or windy conditions.
  • General Lift/Carry Expectations:Must be able to lift a minimum of 30lbs, regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move 50 lbs or more with assistance.
  • Standing:Constant standing throughout the shift. The position may require standing for periods greater than two hours at a time, for a total of greater than eight hours.
  • Walking:Regular walking.
  • Sitting:Occasional sitting for brief periods.
  • Reaching:Constant reaching with one or both hands/arms.
  • Stooping/Bending:Moderate stooping/bending.
  • Twisting - Wrists/Forearms/Shoulder:Frequent twisting of wrist/forearm/shoulders. Able to work with various hand and power tools.
  • Grasping:Constant grasping of various hand tools and equipment.
  • Noise: The work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Work Settings/Description of Environmental Hazards Encountered

  • Working around moving equipment & vehicles in and around the shop. Exposure to fumes and airborne particles.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver License and clean MVR Must maintain a valid driver's license during entire employment/ CDL is a bonus
  • Hold/obtain DOT medical card.
  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
  • Willingness/Ability to be Forklift Certified
  • Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check
  • Minimum hand tools preferred
