Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Our client is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support their operations team. As a heavy equipment mechanic, you will be repairing and maintaining heavy machinery such as cranes, excavators, and loaders. The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical background in diesel and hydraulic systems, equipment operation experience, and a commitment to working safely.

Working hours: Monday - Friday; 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on equipment (cranes, excavators, loaders, trucks).
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Keep detailed records of inspections, repairs, and parts used.
• Collaborate with management to schedule major repairs and replacements.
• Assist with heavy equipment operation duties as needed (material handling, loading/unloading)

Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment AND performing mechanical repairs.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and diesel systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Valid driver's license required
• Commercial driver's license (CDL) a plus.
• Forklift or heavy equipment operation certification preferred.
