Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Project Assistant to support our project management team in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience and insight into construction project management, working alongside experienced professionals in a fast-paced environment.
This is NOT a remote position. This role is located in Plymouth or Otsego, Minnesota.
85% - Administrative Assistant: Provide daily administrative duties for the Major Projects team. This position monitors records and filing, types up documentation, and schedules and coordinates meetings.
15% - Sales Support: Provides sales support to the Major Projects team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative Assistant:
- Assist project managers in daily coordination of construction activities and project documentation
- Monitor project progress and help prepare regular status reports.
- Attend meetings, take minutes, and support communication between team members, subcontractors and vendors.
- Help track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Organize and maintain project files, drawings, permits, and other documentation.
- Conduct site visits to observe construction progress, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and
- document field conditions.
- Support procurement of materials and verify deliveries.
- Assist in change order tracking, RFIs, and submittals.
Sales Support:
- Interface with branch to ensure cohesion in projects.
- Assist with marketing projects and to meet deadlines.
- Prepares quotes, contracts and RFP/RFI responses for potential customers.
- Maintains all quote documentation with accurate pricing and configurations.
- Maintains all sales demonstration tools and applications.
- Maintains up-to-date awareness of company activities, industry trends and government regulations.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of construction methods, terminology, and project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD) is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work on-site and in an office setting.
