Summary
The Estimator will work with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and theoperations team to gather and analyze data to create comprehensive bid packagesfor Astra Group and its customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates and maintains bid schedule with Owner and/or Program ManagerPrepares cost estimates and budgets for projects being bidPrepares quantity takeoffs from bid documentsBoth hard bid and design/build conceptual estimating is requiredPrepare and identify cost factors such as construction duration, labor,equipment, and materialsFluent in reading plans/drawings/standards and documents in order to prepareestimatesAbility to analyze project construction staging and workflows and theirconstructability and/or identify means and methods to improve the scheduleTravel to jobsites to gather information on materials needed, laborrequired, and other factorsPrepare project schedulesBuild and maintain a file or library of material suppliers and qualifiedsubcontractorsCompletes tasks accurately and timelyGood math skillsMeets or exceeds external and internal customer expectationsAdapts easily to changing deadlinesUnderstanding of contract administration

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or relatedfield is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and relevantexperience preferred5+ years of relatable estimator experience with knowledge of, AGTEK,Microsoft Project, P6 (Primavera), Bluebeam, Vista, and ProcoreSpecific knowledge and experience in estimating utility, structuralconcrete, and deep foundation work is a plusWorking knowledge of the Microsoft 360 platform preferredLeadership attributes including, but and not limited to organizational andcritical thinking skills, the ability to analyze data and trends, professionalconduct at all timesHigh-stress tolerance; must be able to thrive in a high-pressure environmentA highly motivated self-starting, autonomous individual who can workindependently and set their own priorities, yet also function well as part ofthe overall team.
