JOB BRIEF

We are looking for a Construction Estimator to calculate estimated costs of multifamily construction projects, in particular exterior claddings, drywall, and framing. The successful candidate will be able to collect and analyze data according to a multitude of variables.

The ideal candidate will be very comfortable with numbers, excel spreadsheets, and PlanSwift Estimating Software. The successful candidate must be capable of paying close attention to detail and must possess excellent communication skills.

The goal is to provide the company with accurate information that will help in operations and strategic planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Acquire an understanding of the project requirements and specific Scope of WorkSelect all means necessary to produce valid, accurate estimatesReview contract documents, including plans and specifications, or consult experts to collect all necessary dataAnalyze data and produce forecastsPrepare detailed reports, spreadsheets, and bids for submission to appropriate partiesFoster relationships with key contacts (contractors, architects, vendors, etc.)

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

Proven experience as a construction estimatorBasic understanding of accounting and project management conceptsDeep understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimating metricsComfortable with numbers and technologyExcellent knowledge of software like PlanSwift or On Screen Takeoff/Quick BidGreat attention to detail

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Well-organized and reliable

BSc/BA in engineering, construction science, or relevant field will be a plus

Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification will be a plus
