Job Summary:
Oversees and supervises pile driving crews, along with being able to construct, erect, install, and repair structures.
The primary location for this position is the Baltimore SUS yard
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Assign duties, manage, and oversee projects, along with being able to work side by side with the crew. Overseeing of installation of steel components and parts for bridges, buildings, dock buildings, and temporary support structures. Process time sheets using iPad
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Drive metal sheet piling to hold back dirt during excavations
- Drive wood, steel, or concrete piling to hold up docks, wharves, and bridges
- Move hand and foot levers of hoisting equipment to position piling leads, hoist piling into leads, and position hammer over pilings
- Move levers and turn valves to activate power hammers or to raise and lower drop hammers that drive piles to required depths
- Template and pile layout
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Minimal carpentry skills required
- Conducts daily Tool Box Talks and JSA's and weekly safety inspections of the overall site

- Read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans
- Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles
- Ability to work and think independently, solve problems, and be able to lead a team/crew
- Ability to read safety rules and instructions in the use & maintenance of equipment & tools
- Must be knowledgeable about and follow the company's safety policy and procedures
- Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures and work harmoniously and cooperatively with others at all times
- Must be willing to travel per project needs

- Builds structures according to sketches, blueprints, or oral instructions and examines specifications to determine the dimensions of the structure
- Know all reasonable aspects of pile driving equipment.
- Good knowledge of hand and portable power tools.
- Good knowledge of welding equipment.
- Good knowledge of Oxy-acetylene torches.
- Good knowledge of heavy equipment.
Education and Experience:
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); completion of an apprenticeship program or related experience and/or training.
- 5 or more years' experience.
- Mathematics: Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into units of measure.
- Reading, Writing, and Communication Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Problem-Solving: Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms
- Stand, lift, carry, stoop, kneel, and balance.
- Frequently required to climb.
- Vision abilities required include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly exposed to outside weather & other various conditions;
oExtreme cold and heat, wet and/or humid conditions;
oLoud working environment.

Safety Sensitive Position:
This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee and Team Members without proper safety precautions. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. Team Members will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies due to these safety risks.
