Role and Responsibilities

The Technical Project Manager (PM) for the program will play a pivotal role in establishing a large-scale medical imaging data exchange that connects data providers, data users, and medical imaging-related service providers. This platform is designed to accelerate the development, validation, evaluation, and translation of machine learning (ML) algorithms.

The PM oversees strategic planning and execution, including developing and implementing a comprehensive program strategy that aligns with the program's objectives. This involves managing the creation and refinement of the business model and plan, and ensuring the program remains self-sustainable after funding by identifying and securing necessary resources.

The PM is responsible for managing stakeholder relationships. It is important to establish and maintain connections with data providers, data users, and medical imaging-related service providers. The role involves facilitating collaboration and communication among stakeholders to ensure efficient data exchange and integration. Additionally, engaging with the customer and other funding bodies to secure support and financing will be part of the responsibilities.

The PM is responsible for technical oversight, providing guidance and monitoring the technical development of the platform to ensure it meets stakeholders' needs. This includes supervising the progress of ML algorithm development, validation, evaluation, and translation, and ensuring that all technical areas are addressed in proposals and implementation plans.

The PM oversees system architecture design and implementation, which involves designing, implementing, and operating the system architecture and protocols for the platform. The PM supervises the development of hardware, software, and protocols for data management, visualization, processing, and cybersecurity. Ensuring the platform supports centralized and federated training, testing, and validation of ML algorithms, as well as third-party program development and monetization, will be part of the responsibilities.

The PM focuses on enrollment and community engagement by proactively engaging with the medical imaging community to build a diverse data catalog and userbase. The PM recruits, enrolls, onboards, and services data users, data providers, and service providers, and develops and negotiates data use agreements and legal agreements to facilitate participation and data sharing.

Performance monitoring and reporting are critical aspects of the responsibilities. The PM tracks and reports on the program's progress, including key milestones and deliverables. Implementing performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the business model and plan is essential. Providing regular updates to stakeholders and funding bodies on the program's status ensures transparency and accountability.

Risk management is an ongoing task. Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure the program's success is crucial. The PM monitors and addresses issues during implementation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Finally, the PM leads and manages the program team through leadership and development. Providing direction and support to ensure successful execution of the program is part of daily responsibilities. Fostering a collaborative work environment that encourages team members to contribute to the program's goals is essential. The PM also provides training and development opportunities to enhance the team's skills.
