Production Supervisor Job Description The chosen candidates will be responsible for directing associates in successful plant operations while ensuring safety, quality, production, and customer requirements are met. This position requires the ability to lead and motivate employees by understanding all production, safety, quality, and customer requirements, and effectively communicating information to all members of the production team. The role also involves assisting with materials planning and logistics, reviewing production data, and processing data. Supervising approximately 30 employees at a time is expected, with support available from the shift Plant Superintendent for issues that need escalation. Responsibilities Lead team meetings to communicate quality, production, and general information from other locations or departments. Coach and counsel crew members in safety, performance, attendance, training, housekeeping/5S, and quality to ensure understanding and compliance with company requirements. Ensure that all production, safety, quality, and information is clearly communicated to all team members. Actively participate in accident/injury investigations, including near misses, and resolve any deficiencies through engineering controls and employee education. Perform audits in areas of safety, training, and quality to support company needs and develop countermeasures when necessary. Essential Skills High School Diploma or GED completed. 2+ years of production supervision or equivalent leadership experience. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment, preferably automotive. Proven experience in leading teams to ensure production, quality, and safety goals are met. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent technical field is preferred. Lean manufacturing experience is desirable. The environment can reach up to 110 degrees in the summertime when the ovens are operational, but the facility remains extremely clean with minimal dirt. As an automotive supplier, meeting deadlines and goals is crucial to ensure success. Each shift has a Plant Superintendent to support Production Supervisors. The dress code includes steel-toed boots and eye protection. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Ligonier, Indiana.
