Machine Operator Job Description As a Machine Operator, you will coordinate the operational aspects of packaging lines, addressing quality issues, and managing documentation and resource distribution. You will work closely with supervisors when needed and project teamwork and positive energy to your assigned crew. Duties may include mechanical setup and adjustments to various packaging equipment. You will be responsible for working safely, following all safety policies, and completing all required safety training. Additionally, you will ensure that batches are packaged and labeled according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and batch record instructions. Responsibilities Set up, adjust, and operate equipment such as labelers, shrink-wrap machines, Tex-Wrap machine, STS heat wrapping machine, tape machines, and shipper labelers. Manage multiple labelers within the packaging department. Perform and document critical steps of packaging operation, including line clearance, label verification, product count, and final finished goods verification. Enter serialization orders into the computer system. Label and package products according to packaging batch record instructions, assessing the quality of each component and designating components for rework or rejection if needed. Ensure high accuracy with alphanumeric data entry and perform labeling accountability calculations on batch records. Complete, legible, and accurate documentation. Maintain solid oral and written communication skills. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Perform other assigned duties as required. Keep work area and machinery clean. Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary. Comply with all safety policies and procedures and utilize all safety devices. Report any unsafe work practices or injuries. Essential Skills High school graduate or equivalent. Experience in manufacturing is preferred. Basic math skills for required calculations (multiplication/division). Good written and oral communication skills. Strong mechanical skills are preferred. Good computer problem-solving skills. Minimum of one-year experience working in a regulated, cGMP facility, preferably in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing.
