The role of the Janitorial Supervisor is to ensure the proper operation & performance of all aspects of a comprehensive sanitation program in both a manufacturing and administrative environment to validate all hourly staff are performing their job to standards. Always presents themselves in a professional appearance and manner.
Essential Functions
- Review previous shift End of Shift (EOS) report. Annotates any items that carryover and develop a plan of action.
- Conduct beginning of shift brief:
- Assign personnel to their routes A
- Assigns personnel to their required equipment
- Conducts safety brief
- Submits beginning of shift report to PM
- Submits beginning of shift report to Lead Supervisor and Service Line Lead no later than 30 mins after start of shift.
- Ensure all personnel assigned to equipment conduct pre and post operation checks to assigned equipment.
- Runs the floor throughout the entire shift:
- Flex employees to address any hot spots, absences, etc...
- Deploys emergency response clean up as needed via the radio
- Audit routes assessing employee cleaning and sanitizing procedures throughout the shift (using Go Spot Check).
- Reports incidents and hazards to JLL / Safety leadership
- Spot checks employee PPE requirements
- Fills in on the floor as needed due to gaps
- Reports all information to Lead supervisor and Service Line Lead
- Reviews and understand JLL policies and procedures.
- Reviews and understands janitorial vendor policies and procedures.
- Reviews UAW policies and procedures.
- Review and train on Lock-Out safety process.
- Ensuring all staff are aware of the Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Understands and trains all employees on proper chemical use age and PPE requirements.
- Trains on all assigned equipment within their area and understand how to do basic preventive maintenance (PM).
- Trains employees on general and plant housekeeping program via Task Instruction Sheets (TIS).
- Builds a rapport with area ME (Maintenance Engineer) and area leadership.
- Reporting Supplies usage to be ordered to Lead Supervisor.
- Supervises all cleaning staff focusing on their performance in terms of standards of cleanliness and their behaviors while on duty.
- Understands the importance of the recycling program and pushes those requirements to the employees.
- Develop plans for compression work or shutdown.
- Monitor and develops daily plans for hot spot areas and reassess as processes within the plant changes.
- Submits shift EOS to Lead Supervisor and Service Line Lead, ensure all pass-down information is outlined for night shift in EOS.
Supervisory Responsibilities for the following Support
- Establishment of cleaning standards and procedures for workers and ensure adherence to the TIS standards and procedures.
- Coaching and developing employees (cleaners).
- Scheduling and assigning specific duties/roles to cleaners and ensure they are carried out expertly.
- Inspection of cleaning equipment on a regular basis to validate equipment readiness and request for maintenance support as needed.
- Controlling and monitoring the usage of cleaning materials to avoid or minimize waste and/or misuse.
- Providing any form of required assistance to cleaners while they carry out their duties

Education / Experience Requirements
- Previous Management experience required
- Associates/Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Target Pay Range - $26.44-$27.88/hr
