**JOB SUMMARY:**
This position assists in the Concrete Pump Operator with coordinating the placement of ready mix concrete through pump at sites. Assists in setting up the concrete delivery systems, monitoring the movement of concrete to the location where it is being poured.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Assists the Concrete Pump Operator (Operator) at the job site with the following job duties
- Set up, use and maintain tools and equipment associated with concrete pumps mounted on trucks, platforms, or separate placing booms.
- May operate and drive truck (with valid CDL license)
- Load and unload concrete placing systems and attachments
- Tend 1 or more machines that pump concrete, grout, or dry mixtures of sand and cement
- Routinely connect multiple hoses together and positions/repositions hoses
- Shovel spilled concrete back into Company hopper
- Operating pump by means of radio remote, cable remote or manual leers
- Communicate problems on job site immediately to Operator and the office for resolution
- Contain***ALL***hydraulic or diesel leaks
- Conduct routine maintenance on pumps (i.e.: pipe, elbow and gasket replacement)
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicle
- Thoroughly clean pump after the completion of the job/day (i.e.: cab, remotes, side boxes, system, pump, boom, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
**REQUIREMENTS:**
- Must have CDL
- Must have basic personal tools needed to do field repairs (i.e.: 10 mm allen wrench, 10 mm ratchet, 24 mm wrench, assorted metric wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.)
- Provide own PPE (i.e.: hardhat, safety glasses, vest, boots)
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
- Minimum of X years experience operating concrete pumping equipment
- Previous experience maintaining pumps
- Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical problems
- A current CDL license (Texas preferred)
- Schwing and Putzmeister experience preferred
- Clear understanding of equipment and safety manuals
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with customers and ready mix producers
**EDUCATION:**
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**
- Meet DOT requirements for hearing and seeing
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds to an overhead position
- Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary
- Possess good manual dexterity to climb on and around the pump truck in all weather conditions common to the north Texas area
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain, cleated walkways and wire mesh
- Ability/willingness to work with outside temperatures that include excessive heat, cold, wind and precipitation
- Ability to sit for long periods of time while driving concrete pump truck
