Structural Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Designer to join our dynamic team. The role involves conducting site walk-throughs and field work to assess existing conditions, performing structural analysis and design for custom single-family residences, structural repairs, building renovations, new construction projects, and specialty engineering for steel fabricators. You will be responsible for preparing structural drawings using AutoCAD and conducting inspections and phase observations during construction. Strong communication with clients, colleagues, and contractors is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site walk-throughs and field work to evaluate existing conditions.
  • Perform structural analysis and design for various projects including custom single-family residences, structural repairs, building renovations, and new constructions.
  • Prepare detailed structural drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Conduct inspections and phase observations during construction.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
  • 1-4 years of experience in Structural Engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Experience in building structural engineering (excluding bridges and tunnels).
  • Design experience with structural steel, cold-formed steel, commodity and engineered lumber, masonry, aluminum, concrete foundations, and retaining walls.
  • Experience with structural analysis and site visits before and after construction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • EIT certification preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in structural software such as RISA 3D and RAM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $48.00/hr.
