The Powercor team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced BMS (Building Management System) and EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring System) Installation Foreman to lead our installation teams on critical data center projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of electrical systems, a strong background in low-voltage controls, and proven leadership abilities. This role requires a meticulous individual who prioritizes safety, quality, and project timelines.
What you will do
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of electricians and technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and manage the daily operations of the crew to meet project schedules and deadlines.
Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members, fostering skill development and promoting best practices.
Enforce all company and regulatory safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E), conducting regular safety briefings and promoting a safety-first culture.
Manage crew timesheets and daily reports accurately.
Oversee and actively participate in the installation, termination, and testing of BMS and EPMS panels, devices, and associated infrastructure within data center environments.
Demonstrate expert-level skills in conduit installation, including the use of hand, mechanical, and hydraulic benders for various conduit types (EMT, Rigid, PVC).
Manage and execute complex cable pulling operations for both low-voltage control wiring and power cabling, adhering to data center best practices for cable management, routing, and segregation (e.g., overhead conveyance, underfloor, cable tray fill capacities).
Perform precise panel terminations (e.g., control panels, distribution panels) and device terminations (e.g., sensors, actuators, meters, intelligent lighting controls) to industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
Proficiently read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, P&IDs, control logic diagrams, and technical specifications to ensure accurate installation.
Verify and troubleshoot wiring connections, control circuits, and network communications for BMS and EPMS components.
Ensure all installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant industry standards (e.g., ANSI/TIA, BICSI).
Collaborate effectively with Project Managers, engineers, other trades, and clients to coordinate installation activities and resolve any on-site issues.
Participate in coordination meetings, providing accurate updates on project status, identifying potential roadblocks, and offering solutions.
Manage and maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built drawings, red-lines, daily logs, RFI's, and quality control reports.
Manage and maintain tool control and inventory on the job site, ensuring proper equipment maintenance and calibration.
Order and manage materials, ensuring availability to maintain project flow.
What you will need to succeed
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Foreman or similar supervisory role, with at least 5 years specifically in data center or critical facility environments.
Proven experience with BMS (Building Management Systems) and EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring Systems) installation and commissioning.
Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification preferred.
OSHA 10 or 30 certification required. NFPA 70E training highly desired.
Expertise in conduit bending and installation (EMT, Rigid, PVC).
Demonstrated proficiency in cable pulling techniques for various cable types (copper, fiber, control wiring) in data center settings.
Extensive experience with electrical panel and device terminations.
Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, blueprints, P&IDs, and control diagrams.
In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant industry standards.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues.
Proficiency with common construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
