Project Engineer - USA This individual will manage the design, implementation, and optimization of new equipment, facilities, expansions, etc. and provide technical support to all US SOPREMA Group manufacturing sites. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Research and identify new processes or improvement opportunities. Identify and develop external suppliers, partners, contractors to support projects. Manage costs and ensure projects are completed within time and budget parameters. Develop and oversee drawings and or design of equipment and systems. Identify justifications for new process improvements as well as ROIs for proposed projects. Ability to adjust daily to different problems being a resource to other departments to aid operations. Create and manage project approval documentation. Manage and support installation and startup of new equipment and ensure it meets project parameters. Actively participate in start-up, training, and support of new equipment. Develop and present project status reports and updates. Work to meet all project goals and objectives. Share best practices between Plants regarding equipment and suppliers and processes. Other responsibilities as assigned by manager including but not limited to the following: Assisting departments such as Maintenance and/or Facilities with various tasks which require engineering to be involved or may need engineering services. Accommodating other Plants with testing of product or material to run on our line. Working with Quality to uphold manufacturing and quality standards on testing and producing new product. Minimum Qualifications: Education, training, and/or qualifications necessary to meet desired outcomes of position. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 3 plus years of experience designing and developing manufacturing equipment and systems. Knowledge and experience utilizing CAD and 3D modeling High mechanical aptitude. Machine automation knowledge. Writing code for PLC and automation is a plus but not a requirement. Licenses/certifications required of this job and method used to obtain this credentialing or other types of training. Valid Driver's License and good driving history. Valid passport. Specific skills required to reach desired results of position. Mechanical Engineering skills such as thermal dynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and strengths of materials. Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures, from both operational and quality perspectives. Knowledge of ROI processes. Knowledge of pumps, valves, flow controls and vessel design Working software knowledge of CAD systems Knowledge of PLC controls and automation Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Effective oral and written presentation skills. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Ability to multi-task and drive change. Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee might be required to travel by car, train, or plane. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk. Employee will travel approximately 30% of the time within the SOPREMA Group plants and infrequent international meetings to engage in project engineering activities. Will often work in an industrial environment which might contain high levels of noise, temperature, and pollutants. May be required to work on the production line for short periods of time and can potentially include lifting product or shoveling material into waste receptacles. Will visit machine suppliers, engineering firms, and various manufacturers. Reports to the Engineering Project Manager - USA.
