Parks/Berkeley Spring State Park Under the general supervision of the Park Superintendent, Assistant Park Superintendent, Park Ranger, and direct supervision of the TPS II (Park Manager), this employee will function as the supervisor for the daily activities of the Building Maintenance Department staff at Berkeley Springs State Park. Responsible for project planning and scheduling, workforce assignment, supervising the conduct, and ensuring the satisfactory completion of all tasks. Provides instruction to the workforce, evaluates performance, and provides guidance as needed. Report on the status of projects to the TPS II (Park Manager) and advise of problems or challenges. Performs a variety of clerical duties to include, but not limited to, contacting vendors; complying with agency purchasing procedures to obtain goods and services; compliance reports and responses; processing leave requests, attendance, and payroll reports; and processing various daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports. The employee should possess strong knowledge of commercial and historic building maintenance, carpentry, metal fabrication, plumbing, and electrical repairs, as well as steam boilers, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Additionally, the employee should be familiar with commercial and residential fire alarms, appliance repair, and telephone system troubleshooting and repair. The employee is required to utilize numerous computer software programs to process payroll and schedule subordinates, generate reports, communicate electronically, and control HVAC, boiler, and bulk water systems. Must have knowledge, skills, and ability to conduct business in an electronic networking environment. The employee must be able to read, interpret, and revise blueprints and building plans. Must be proficient in the use of both hand and power tools. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, interact with park visitors courteously and professionally, and maintain efficient working relationships with other staff members. Must be knowledgeable of and comply with all policies, procedures, and regulations. Must have flexibility in work schedule. Will be required to respond to emergency repair calls on nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Will be required to wear a park uniform daily. Must possess a valid drivers license. Must utilize a State purchasing card. Performs assigned duties as required. Regular attendance is required.

Training: Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent. Substitution: Additional experience as described below may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education up to four years.Experience: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in general maintenance or construction work on buildings, grounds, or electrical and mechanical equipment, at least one year of which has been in a leadwork or supervisory capacity. Substitution: Successful completion of study in an accredited college or university in building trades, or related business or vocational school training may be substituted for the general experience on a year-for-year basis up to two years.
Special Requirement : Specific positions may require certification from a federal EPA approved testing organization as a certified technician required by the Clean Air Act on refrigerant recycling.
