Client: Energy & UtilityJob Title: Gas Compression Project EngineerDuration: 06 Months (Possible extension)Location: Hamilton Township, MI 49419 (3-5 Day in office) Pay: $50-55/hr.Summary - Duties:This Project Engineer role at client involves mechanical project engineering for the Gas Compression team. You'll work on modifications and new construction at natural gas compressor stations.In this team-oriented role, you'll collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, other engineers, operations staff, contractors, and vendors, to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. ResponsibilitiesThis Project Engineer acts as client's representative throughout project lifecycles, ensuring safety, compliance, scope, quality, cost, and schedule adherence.The role demands a strong grasp of natural gas and plant systems, engineering principles, and project management skills, along with excellent communication. You'll coordinate with external engineers, suppliers, and contractors, enforcing specifications.This position involves complex engineering tasks, requiring independent judgment and efficient teamwork across multiple projects.Expect to travel to compressor stations frequently (3-5 day per week). Key Responsibilities:This role provides engineering support from project development (feasibility, design, estimating) through to project closeout. You'll oversee detailed design, review drawings and calculations, and develop technical specifications and bid documents.Key tasks include leading technical bid evaluations, communicating with stakeholders, performing shop inspections and field engineering, and supporting commissioning.You'll also resolve technical issues, assist with scheduling and budgeting, attend meetings, and help with project file turnover. Skills: Experience in the design, construction, and/or operation of natural gas compressor station equipmentExperience in reviewing designs to assure compliance with engineering design standards, applicable codes, constructability, and industry standards.Knowledge of CFR 49 Part 192 Transportation of Natural and Other Gas by Pipeline (Minimum Federal Safety Standards), and/or Michigan Gas Safety Standards Guide (MGSS),Knowledge of ASME Codes & Standards e.g., ASME B31.8, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, ASME B16.5/16.47, ASME BPVC, etc.Knowledge of API Specifications & Standards e.g., API 5L, API 6D, API 1104, etc.Experience in procurement of engineered material, equipment, and professional services.Experience coordinating and developing contract documents (RFP documentation), specifically engineering drawings and technical specifications for both consulting and construction Education - Requirements/Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.5+ years of applied ABET engineering experience.PDN-9f23dd97-e305-4f42-8084-2ce856be3682
