Job Description

AECOMs Water Business Line is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a home base in Chelmsford, MA. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful local and national group that offers a diverse range of technical challenges and career development opportunities. In this role, you will also have an opportunity to mentor junior staff and interact with key clients. Help us to continue to deliver innovative and successful projects.

It is expected that this role will provide support to projects throughout the Northeast US.This is a hybrid position.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical leadership on complex civil design projects from the planning through permitting and construction phases.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Work with mid-level staff and lead multi-discipline project design teams virtually and locally.
  • Interface with client and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage civil and stormwater design and resiliency projects.
  • Coordinate projects with civil design and modeling teams.
  • Design pipe conveyance and modeling of collection systems.
  • Develop and review design and construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Oversee and prepare engineering reports and documentations.
  • Prepare engineering services proposals, fee estimates, and schedules.
  • Stay current on industry trends and advancements in design and engineering.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental engineering + 6years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/oreducationwith an emphasis in water, wastewater, or other related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of MA or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Valid U.S. Drivers License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOMs Motor Vehicle Records Review.
  • Demonstrated experience developing engineering deliverables such as engineering reports, design drawings, technical specifications, and other detailed engineering deliverables.
  • Proven and demonstrated experience working on storm water, water, wastewater, or flood protection/resilienceprojects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of extensive project experience in municipal water, wastewater, and/or stormwater design, analysis, installation, inspection, and management in design within dense urban settings.
  • Strong knowledge of water/wastewater/stormwater design codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills in coordinating with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public to accomplish assigned objectives.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work well in a team environment.
  • Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods.
  • Experienced technical writer.
