We're looking for a Millwright who combines deep expertise across multiple trades and can seamlessly switch between them to keep projects moving:

Preferred Skills:

  • Electrical Systems: Able to install, wire, and troubleshoot single- and three-phase control circuits, interpret schematics, and program basic PLC logic.
  • Plumbing & Piping: Skilled in layout, installation, and repair of welded, threaded, copper, and glued piping systemsboth water and hydraulic.
  • Welding & Fabrication: Proficient with MIG/TIG welding, precision cutting, and custom metalwork to modify or build machine components on the fly.
  • Mechanical & Hydraulic Maintenance: Experienced disassembling and rebuilding pumps, cylinders, and motors; diagnosing leaks, pressure issues, and component wear.
  • HVAC & Control Integration: Comfortable working with control loops, sensors, and thermostatic devicesable to integrate mechanical systems into broader building controls.
  • Blueprint & Diagram Interpretation: Quick to read and act on complex mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical line diagrams.
  • Field Adaptability: Capable of managing unexpected challenges in the shop or remote jobsitewhether it's fabricating a missing bracket, re-routing piping around obstacles, or recalibrating sensors under tight deadlines.
  • This breadth of skill ensures you can handle every facet of equipment installation, repair, and preventative maintenance without waiting on handoffskeeping our projects on time and under budget.

In addition, this Millwright must also demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, including:

  • Team Leadership: Able to plan, assign, and oversee the work of a small crew (23 technicians), ensuring tasks are distributed effectively and timelines are met.
  • Mentorship: Willingly coach less-experienced technicians on best practices, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques to build overall team competency.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Clearly articulate work plans, progress updates, and technical guidance to both field crews and office staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Problem-Solving Ownership: Take charge when unexpected challenges arisemake informed decisions on the spot, coordinate resources, and, when necessary, escalate issues with proposed solutions.
  • Safety Leadership: Model and enforce all lock-out/tag-out and site safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure the crew adheres to company and regulatory standards.
  • Accountability & Reporting: Track crew performance, maintain accurate jobsite records, and provide concise status reports to Branch manager.

Daily Tasks:

  • Install, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and automated equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Remove, replace, or refurbish defective components
  • Perform regular inspections to verify system integrity and safety
  • Inform customers of required repairs
  • Maintain detailed work records

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Relevant certification or license as required by state regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
