Structural & Payload Design Engineer
Location: Tukwila, WA (Onsite)
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural & Payload Design Engineer to join their esteemed organization. This role is integral to the development and integration of structural and interior payload system requirements, which are crucial in establishing the system design.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish a comprehensive system design.
Employ 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and other innovative design methods to create, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs.
Lead performance, integration, and analysis of tests to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Manage supplier development, test, and production activities, coordinating with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
Assist with the investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Work under minimal direction, demonstrating a high level of autonomy and decision-making skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor's degree).
Minimum of 9 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
Proficiency in using 3D Computer Aided Design tools, i.e., CATIA & Enovia
Experience in managing supplier development, test, and production activities.
Interest in investigating emerging technologies for future product designs.
Experience working on conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables, and experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
