PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Are you a proactive problem-solver who excels in fast-paced, field-based environments? We're looking for a Manager of Signals and Communications (S&C) Wayside Projects to lead and mentor a team responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of wayside equipment, all while upholding strict safety standards. As a key contributor to the success of our operations, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the smooth and secure movement of trains and equipment across the assigned territory, spanning from St. Paul, MN, to Chicago, IL.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Direct safety leadership and cultivates continuous improvement in workplace safety
Coordinates performance of the construction services delivered and initiates corrective action where appropriate
Implement policies, processes, and procedures to improve productivity and efficiency
Identify and recommends innovative work methods, new processes, and standard methodologies
Accountable for completion and final documentation of construction projects
Liaise with Regulatory agencies for compliance and new installations
Manage the work performed and within budgetary guidelines
Coach/mentor team to boost their efficiency, assess personal and provide development opportunities
Fully use the collective bargaining agreement for effective work management
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent
Must have valid drivers' license
Proficient knowledge of Signal system maintenance, testing and construction
Minimum of 5 yrs of signal experience
Electrical and/or Construction background
Knowledge on regulatory as well as industry standards
Proficient knowledge computer applications (word, excel, PP, SAP,)
Excellent communication abilities, capable of delivering clear and pinpointed instructions or directions, both over the phone, email, and via radio
