Title: Project Director for Project REACH, Education, Innovation, and Research (EIR) grant

Location with zip code: Manhattan / Queens. NY

Pay Rate: $54.00/hr. to $66.10/hr. on W2

Shift Hours: General Shift Hours

Duration: Long-Term

Overview: Oversee 3 schools under the Project REACH EIR grant (one school in district 4 and two schools in district 30) providing support for program implementation, onboarding, and professional development for schools and CBO partners to improve attendance using the NYCPS.

Every Student Everyday attendance improvement strategy.

Job Description: Work closely with an independent evaluator to monitor the fidelity of EIR grant programs and prepare reporting for the US Department of Education, as needed.

Serve as liaison and consultant to the field, fielding questions and providing guidance on an ongoing basis, in support of implementation of the phases of the EIR grants for Project REACH.

Support with capacity building and other content areas as relevant and necessary.

Oversee the application and implementation of strategies for attendance improvement, evaluate for impact, and address potential implementation challenges.

Participate, assist and leading in internal planning to develop and implement projects and policies.

Generate analysis, guides, and materials in support of attendance and dropout prevention initiatives, including annual reports, webpages, and other applications.

Provide recommendations to program staff concerning current project and ensure alignment with DOE purchasing policies and procedures. Monitor and track all financial activities that are related to budgeting, contracting, purchasing, invoicing, and year-end close out.

Establishing administrative procedures to ensure compliance with grant program requirements.

Support the Senior Operations Manager with responding to inquiries from USDOE related to reimbursable and competitive grants.

Provide technical assistance to CBOs, schools, evaluators, and other stakeholders involved in Project REACH.

Perform detailed analysis of grant budgets and expenditures to ensure the appropriate use of fund

Preferred Skills: Knowledge of DOE's policies and procedures relating to student attendance.

Familiarity and proficiency in the use and application of DOE data systems including ATS and STARS.

Familiarity with DOE and City financial systems, including Galaxy and FAMIS.

Knowledge of the diverse needs of the student population in the areas of attendance.

Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders of various personal and occupational backgrounds.

Capable of troubleshooting, problem-solving, and providing high-quality work within a fast-paced institution.

Strong project management skills, attention to detail and the ability to proactively identify key issues including planning, designing, documenting, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak and write clearly and respectfully.

Excellent Computer skills, with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Education and Experience: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

High school graduation or equivalent and six (6) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or

Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1 or "2 above. However, all candidates must have at least one (1) year of experience as described in "1 above.
