We are looking for a Senior Planner / Scheduler for a field assignment in the Cary, NC area, to support our internal PM/CMs and our external Life Sciences, Bio/Pharma client.
As a key member of our program support team, youll be interacting with engineering and construction professionals to understand and communicate issues and conflicts that impact the schedule.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Leading the Planning / Scheduling team and effort on a large or mega project
Interfacing with engineering, procurement, construction, progress measurement, and the client
Applying your knowledge of pharmaceutical construction, standard industry means and methods, and Scheduling best practices
Leading project Interactive Planning Sessions (IAPs)
Building a fully integrated EPCM schedule from scratch using CPM methodology, incorporating results of IAPs, and using project documents such as Scope of Work, P&IDs, General Arrangements et al
Understanding principals of EPCM projects as it relates to schedule activities, logic, and durations across Engineering, Procurement, and Construction
Understanding Resource Loading of both Engineering and Construction activities
Optimizing and leveling schedule based on resource loading and density analysis
Establishing project Baseline Schedule supporting" Schedule Variance (SV) and Critical Path (CP) Analysis
Establishing and leading schedule update process, reporting, and review sessions with internal teams
Leading client facing schedule reviews supporting Jacobs Project Management and Construction Management teams
Ensuring integrity of the schedule inputs and outputs during the update process
Leading "What-If" scenarios and "work-around" efforts supporting PM and CM teams
Leading Look-Ahead process of schedule activity and resource allocations
Developing written analysis and schedule basis supporting all schedule publications
Understanding principles of EVM (Earned Value Management) and ensuring schedule and EVM are aligned throughout the project
Developing Systems based schedules supporting CQV efforts

At least 15 years of Planning / Scheduling experience on EPCMV life-cycle projects
Minimum of 10 years Primavera P6 software experience with expert level understanding and abilities
A good understanding of building construction, timelines, and practices and industry best practices
Ability to facilitate multi-company interactive planning sessions
Ability to create, update and analyze CPM schedules and recommend work-arounds and schedule improvement ideas
Ability to communicate schedule status on a regular basis via formal and informal meetings and reports
Experience in collaboratively working with PM and CMs using the schedule as a tool to help deliver the project on schedule.
Experience in coordinating the project's earned value system with schedule updates
Knowledge of general application of principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards to perform work
Experience with EVM (Earned Value Management)
Ability to develop cost / schedule analysis presentations both graphically, written, and verbally
Ideally, heres what youll also have:
Relevant and similar sized Pharmaceutical / Biotech construction experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills and understanding of technical terminology
Experienced in Microsoft suite of products including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint Knowledge of Cost Tracking/Forecasting a plus
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Experience working in conjunction with the various Engineering, Procurement and Construction functions is preferred.
