Project Manager
Job Description

This role involves managing retail and restaurant projects, overseeing the overall client relationship from initial assessment of client needs, through design concept presentations, to the final delivery of the project, ensuring a positive client experience. You will collaborate with design and technical teams to shape and understand the project scope, present and work with clients on approved projects, and establish and ensure adherence to set budgets. Additionally, you will immediately inform senior project management or directors and clients of any potential budget variances and make appropriate modifications. You will manage collections for assigned projects and inform the finance manager if there are issues with timely collections. Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with existing and potential clients is also a key part of this role. You will be responsible for assigning tasks, overseeing work, and providing feedback to staff assigned to projects while managing and developing a team of 3 to 5 individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage retail and restaurant projects.
  • Oversee client relationships from initial assessment through project delivery.
  • Collaborate with design and technical teams to define project scope.
  • Present and work with clients on approved projects.
  • Ensure adherence to project budgets and inform relevant parties of variances.
  • Manage collections and liaise with the finance manager if issues arise.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Assign tasks, oversee work, and provide feedback to project staff.
  • Manage and develop a team of 3 to 5 individuals.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Experience in commercial projects, preferably retail/restaurant.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Building Connected, Procore, and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to write and negotiate contracts for services, consultants, and contractors.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to manage and lead internal and external team members.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in retail construction and commercial construction management.
  • Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Project.
Work Environment

The position requires working onsite five days a week in a newly renovated office located in North Chicago, near O'Hare. The office accommodates about 10 to 15 employees and offers a tight-knit culture, with opportunities to take on new roles and expand business. This is an opportunity to work with one of the top general contractors in the Chicagoland area.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
