Hiring:** Full Time Position/Afternoon Shift

**Wage Compensation:** Starting $19.39 - $25.85 depending on experience

**General Summary:** This position is responsible for completing the day-to-day work in a Public Works Water Department, which include maintenance of the water plant building, and grounds maintenance of the Village Water Department complex as well as any other work assigned or directed by the Superintendent of the Water Department, Mayor, or the Village Administrator

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities:** Assist in the repairs and maintenance of the Village water system including but not limited to fixing water main breaks, installation of new service lines, hydrant flushing, line repair, meter reading, repair, and replacement of water meters and valves Direct contact with the public will require professional customer service Conduct daily logs of lab test readings at the water treatment plant Working knowledge of general water plant operations E.P.A. water supply certification is not a requirement but highly recommended Knowledge on the operation of basic valve and water operations. Basic computer navigation skills and mechanical experience is a plus Selected candidate will be required to obtain a lab certification & a Class 1 Water Operator license within the first 2 years of hire date

**Building and Grounds and Maintenance:** Accomplish basic repair work on Village buildings and equipment, as required Plowing and shoveling snow around Village buildings Mowing and maintaining grounds around Village buildings and other properties

**Equipment:** Provide basic equipment service and repair to all Village equipment Knowledge of how to operate equipment such as tractor, backhoe, skid steer, dump truck, etc. is preferred

**Job Qualifications:** Education: High School graduate or equivalent

**Experience:** Experience in ditch excavation, safety, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical experience desired Ability to use hand tools and operate motorized equipment and vehicles such as cars and trucks Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written Ability to maintain records Ability to routinely lift at least 80 lbs Ability follow written and oral instruction, and work independently with little or no supervision Ability to work on your feet, knees, sitting for long periods of time if needed Ability to work in confined spaces and heights

**Additional Requirements:** Must have a valid Ohio driver's license Must be able to work well with the public, perform physical labor and work with limited supervision Must pass a drug screening and a criminal background check
