Mechanical Designer/Drafter

An Insight Global client in the oil & gas industry is looking for 2 Mechanical Design/Drafters in Duncan, OK. They are looking to fill this role because there has been an increase in projects, and they need more design support for the increased number of engineers. Under general supervision, this person will be developing engineering changes and engineering drawings for complex equipment with minimal design requirements and instructions. They will apply sound engineering design logic and judgement to create innovative solutions to design problems. They will also be the expert in creating proper part CAD models and creating product structures in PDM systems. They will be proficient in the preparation of complex design layouts and/or schematics based on rough sketches or instructions from engineering personnel with some latitude for independent design judgement. Additionally, they will be responsible for drafting quality in design documentation and checking drawings of other design personnel for completeness and accuracy as required. They should be aware of tolerance requirements for proper function of equipment and perform tolerance studies on tools for proper function of equipment. This person will utilize and exchange expertise of the materials and methods and apply expertise of manufacturing, production processes, operations, and maintenance practices to designs. They will also incorporate reliability, HSE and Quality analysis techniques during the design process and job tasks impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability, or operations. This role is 100% onsite in Duncan, OK 40 HRS MON-FRI (7:00-3:30) (8:00-5:00). Relocation is not included.

Skills and Requirements

Associate's degree in drafting or similar discipline

8+ years of related drafting/design experience

Strong SolidWorks experience

Strong AutoCAD experience

Large assembly file management experience

Strong communication skills Sheetmetal and piping design experience

SolidWorks Certification null
