NSC Staffing is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to support engineering design and development efforts across mechanical, thermal hydraulic, and electromechanical systems. This position plays a vital role in designing and testing mechanical products used in shipbuilding, energy systems, and advanced engineering applications. Candidates must have an ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering to be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, plan, design, and develop mechanical systems such as controls, engines, robotics, thermal systems, and energy transmission equipment.
• Apply engineering theory and methods to resolve technical challenges in system design and performance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs into broader shipbuilding and marine system applications.
• Support testing, validation, and modification of prototypes and production systems.
• Prepare engineering documentation including specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and engineering standards.

Qualifications:

• ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with a BS degree, 3 years with a Master's, or entry-level with a PhD.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electromechanical systems development in the marine, industrial, or defense sectors.
• Strong understanding of thermal and hydraulic systems preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with CAD tools, modeling software, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be able to obtain or maintain any required security clearance.
