Traffic Engineer
Job Description

The Traffic Engineer will specialize in designing and analyzing traffic signals, phasing, and timing, developing traffic control, pavement marking, and staging plans, and using Synchro, HCS, and AutoTurn. They will also prepare specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents while collaborating with project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering and design for traffic signal sequencing, traffic analysis, traffic signal design, traffic phasing and timing, and traffic modeling.
  • Create engineering plans for traffic signals, pavement markings, traffic control, and construction staging plans.
  • Utilize engineering software programs including Synchro Studio, HCS (Highway Capacity Software), and AutoTurn.
  • Prepare contract documents, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager and other design staff on projects.
Essential Skills
  • Civil Engineering knowledge with a focus on traffic.
  • Experience in Traffic Signal Design and MicroStation.
  • Proficiency in Synchro, HCS, or MicroStation.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with Traffic Signal Design for civil engineering projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Civil 3D.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
Work Environment

The office is located in DeWitt, MI, offering flexible options for fully remote work or a hybrid schedule to support work-life balance. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, around 40 hours per week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr.
