CONSTRUCTION SERVICES PRACTICE Michael Baker International's Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects. DESCRIPTION Michael Baker's Philadelphia Area Construction Management team is seeking a qualified Senior Construction Manager capable of running large bridge, highway and rail projects. This role will support the Construction Services Department Managers in the pursuit and execution of new work and will manage construction contracts and CM staff on projects for PennDOT, City of Philadelphia, SEPTA and DRPA. This role will involve monitoring and documenting construction projects, coordinating work, overseeing quality, and ensuring projects are being built in accordance with the plans and specifications. Responsibilities include: Oversee large and complex construction projects and ensure projects adhere to all government and industry standards and guidelines . Client Interaction and Management. Implement and maintain project control systems. Prepare and implement construction management QA/QC Plans. Maintains effective communications and coordination between the contractor and the owner to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Coordinate with contractors and other stakeholders on progress of work and schedule. Manages contractual commitments for contracts including costs, quality, schedule, and field activities. Support design teams with constructability reviews of plans under development. Perform other duties as assigned. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS 4-year degree required, Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred. 20 years of experience working in a construction-related field. PennDOT experience is a plus. Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license in PA is required. Possession of a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential is preferred but not required. Aptitude for communicating with owner/client staff, contractors, and subconsultants (Excellent English language skills, written and verbal, are essential). Dedication to project goals, client satisfaction, corporate aspirations, business development, growth objectives, staff development, and operational excellence. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. PDF manipulation (Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam). COMPENSATION The approximate compensation range for this position is $139,360 to $180,960. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
