Responsibilities

Directs the day-to-day coordination of Gilbane's trade partners and their sub-contractors to ensure high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule

Develops, documents, and communicates the work plan regarding changes made in the field

Maintains a thorough understanding of contract documents in order to proactively anticipate potential problems

Participates in constructability review and identifies change impacts

Obtains or verifies that subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposes

Acts as primary safety representative in the field

Establishes credibility among owners, trade contractors, unions, and other project partners by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment

Leads contractor meetings on a regular basis

Maintains daily reports and documentation using software tools

Creates, manages, and updates the project schedule, creating and implementing contingency plans when necessary

Communicates schedule status, updates and changes to project team and trade contractors

Plans, coordinates, and manages jobsite logistics

Oversees project quality plan, completes inspections, and implements necessary changes

Communicates with Site Services/Next 150 to order materials and schedule crew

Coaches and mentors less Field Engineers on project needs, construction knowledge, and business acumen

Understands scopes of work; assists in writing scopes of work and participates in buyout

Assists in Time and Materials (T&M) tracking

Leads stretch and flex, daily huddle, and pre-task plan reviews

Supports a positive and inclusive work environment

May be required to assist with tasks typically assigned to more junior positions

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management

7-20 years of experience on $50 million or larger commercial/industrial construction projects in a Lead or General superintendent role

Experience in Health Care, Advanced Manufacturing science and technology, Life Science, K-12, Higher Education preferred

OSHA 30-hour certified

STS-C Certification Preferred

First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training

Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong technical and communication skills

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to collaborate on a daily basis with the project team

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Knowledge of suite of construction software tools, including scheduling software

Construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction

Experience and proficiency in multiple divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control

Strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan

Ability to create an environment where "safety first" is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitude

Understanding of general requirements financial forecasting

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

For Albany NY, Buffalo NY, Ohio, South Carolina, Indiana, Orlando FL, Tampa FL. Sarasota FL, Jacksonville FL, Arizona, San Antonio TX, Richmond VA, Pittsburgh PA this ranges from $116,800-$170,100.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

For Atlanta GA, Maryland, Boca Raton FL, North Carolina, Detroit MI, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Rochester MN, this ranges from $122,600.00-$178,600.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

For Austin TX, Chicago IL, Houston TX, Philadelphia PA, Sacramento CA this ranges from $128,500.00-$187,100.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

For Arlington VA, Boston MA this ranges from $136,700.00-$199,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

For Concord CA, Los Angeles CA this ranges from $142,500.00-$207,500.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

For San Jose CA, York NY this ranges from $149,500.00-$217,700.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
