Overview
UES is a national leader in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing (CMT), and environmental consulting - and our Houston team is growing. We're looking for a motivated Estimator to help turn plans into precise cost estimates across a range of exciting projects, from single-family homes to large-scale commercial builds.

Responsibilities
Generate cost estimates based on project plans and specifications using internal takeoff software.
Prepare takeoffs and material quantity lists from construction drawings.
Transfer data and apply testing frequencies using Excel-based estimating templates.
Coordinate with clients and the marketing team to obtain complete contract documents and clarify project scope.
Ensure accuracy and completeness in all estimating documentation.
Participate in department meetings and maintain open communication with team members.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance, which is essential to success in this role.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
1-2 years of relevant estimating experience, preferably in construction materials testing or a similar industry.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with takeoff or estimating software is a plus.
Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and clients.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequentcommunication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms.
The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds
