Operator I (two openings)

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

- High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience

- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, welding and safety procedures, road construction and concrete

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; effectively and appropriately communicate; understand and comply with laws, regulations, policy and directives; and interact effectively and appropriately with public and employees

- Maintain a valid Montana Commercial Drivers License (CDL), or be able to obtain one within six (6) months of employment

- Occupational certification for heavy equipment operation and other endorsements as mandated by law and/or policy

- Occupational certification as a forklift/loader operator, flagger and motor grader operator as awarded by the Montana Local Technical Assistance Program

- Ability to use hand-tools

DUTIES INCLUDE:

- Operate heavy equipment

- Plow snow and sand icy roads

- Blade roads

- Haul gravel, scoria, tar pot and other materials and equipment to jobsites

- Change water channels

- Install culverts, car gates and cattle guards

- Operate rollers to prepare road beds

- Install and maintain bridge markers and street signs

- Build concrete retaining walls

- Fill washouts

- Mow road shoulders

- Make minor repairs to equipment

Full-time, permanent positions working 40 hours per week. Two positions open in Richey.
