Summary
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing planning, coordination, and administration of assigned projects through all phases of the work. Collaborates with principal, designer, and architectural staff to develop designs, produce construction documentation, provide client care, and resolve architectural questions. Has the responsibility to monitor and direct project execution.
Will assist in staff development, reinforce a positive and robust office culture, and conduct themselves in an exemplary manner. Supervise staff as assigned. Mentor, guide, and evaluate assigned staff as required. Participate in recruitment and interviews of new employee candidates. Provide studio leadership as directed by the Managing Principal.
Shall develop strong working relationships with external industry partners and clients through the execution of project work. Participate in business development activities and assist in the preparation of pursuit material, award submittals, thought leadership content, and other collateral needed to capture and communicate institutional knowledge.
This position is located in the Los Angeles, California. The position requires 3 days in the office and the ability to work from home Mondays and Fridays.
Position Responsibilities

Manage multiple projects through all phases of work through effective delegation, clear communication, and sound leadership
Supervise staff as assigned; accurately and fairly evaluate the performance of those who they supervise
Ensure that coaching, mentoring, and performance-enhancing feedback for assigned team members are provided
Analyze profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, and utilization across projects
Collaborate with design leadership to ensure the quality of project design and documentation, through all phases of projects
Participate in project pursuit interviews
Lead production and review of architectural drawings, specifications, and design documents
Allocate resources efficiently and effectively, optimizing team performance
Assume responsibility for the following:
Client communication
Workplans
Fee proposals
Consultant selection in accordance with HMC standard operating procedures
Maintaining project budgets
Review of contract documents to ensure quality, coordination, and compliance with the contract requirements, HMC standards, and Architect Standard of Care
Development of project specifications
Assist with the following:
Serve as primary proponent for project pursuits when strategically appropriate
Preparation, writing and development of content for project pursuit proposals
Collection of aged accounts and resolving financial issues relative to project budgets
All other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Architectural degree from an accredited university or equivalent demonstrated proficiency
Minimum of 10 years' experience of experience in production and coordination of documents in all phases of architectural practice and in management of projects

Ability to supervise and manage multiple clients and project managers for all phases of projects Proficiency in project management tools and software
Direct overall verbal and graphic communication of complex project concepts to clients, public agencies, and project team members, and be primary point of contact for all client issues
Cultivate productive working relationships; foster and promote collaboration with HMC team members, consultants, clients, and other external partners in pursuing common goals and fulfillment of HMC's purpose and mission
Ability to delegate assignments to support staff and always be respectful
Advanced skills in Revit and other relevant architectural software
Demonstrate motivation in seeking new responsibilities and challenges
The salary range for this position is $105,682 to $158,086
The actual offered salary for this position will vary depending on multiple factors including the candidate's qualification, education, position knowledge, work experience, skills, ability, work location, and internal incumbent compensation for similar roles. We do not anticipate individuals hired into this position will start at or near the top half of the range listed; the decision will be based on each individual case. The salary range listed above does not include other compensation elements such as discretionary bonus opportunities, employee stock ownership grants, paid time off, medical insurance, and other wage and benefit opportunities.
