2nd Shift Mill Operator Job Description As a 2nd Shift Mill Operator, you will be tasked with operating and maintaining high-speed, robotic-assisted machinery to form and cut steel products. You will ensure quality standards are met, follow safety protocols, and support efficient production. Responsibilities Set up and operate high-speed equipment with robotic elements. Form or cut steel to specified dimensions and specifications. Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as needed. Ensure quality control by inspecting finished products. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Collaborate with team members and report to the Plant Manager. Essential Skills Heavy industrial manufacturing experience Mechanical inclination Minimum of 1 year experience in milling Proficiency in using a tape measure, troubleshooting, and slitter operations Ability to read blueprints Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience operating similar equipment Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong problem-solving skills Attention to detail Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 lbs frequently Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a 2nd shift from 3pm-11pm with expected overtime of around 5 hours per week. The environment is protected from weather conditions but not from temperature changes. Hazards include proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, exposure to high heat, or chemicals.
