2nd Shift Mill Operator Job Description As a 2nd Shift Mill Operator, you will be tasked with operating and maintaining high-speed, robotic-assisted machinery to form and cut steel products. You will ensure quality standards are met, follow safety protocols, and support efficient production. Responsibilities Set up and operate high-speed equipment with robotic elements. Form or cut steel to specified dimensions and specifications. Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as needed. Ensure quality control by inspecting finished products. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Collaborate with team members and report to the Plant Manager. Essential Skills Heavy industrial manufacturing experience Mechanical inclination Minimum of 1 year experience in milling Proficiency in using a tape measure, troubleshooting, and slitter operations Ability to read blueprints Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience operating similar equipment Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong problem-solving skills Attention to detail Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 lbs frequently Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a 2nd shift from 3pm-11pm with expected overtime of around 5 hours per week. Training will initially be on the 1st shift from 7am-3pm for at least 4 weeks before transitioning to the assigned shift. The environment is protected from weather conditions but not from temperature changes. Hazards include proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, exposure to high heat, or chemicals.
