Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for a contract opportunity located in Ogden, UT.
Job Summary
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will conduct field investigations, lead technical design development, and coordinate constructability reviews for complex civil and structural systems. Your expertise will be essential in preparing civil deliverables, evaluating designs, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring project success.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, review, and coordinate civil/structural designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications
Perform building/site layouts, roadway and grading plans using tools such as Civil 3D or Revit
Apply advanced knowledge of structural analysis, materials engineering, and construction methods
Conduct cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and change order evaluations
Collaborate with engineering disciplines, vendors, construction, and clients
Support field execution by resolving design issues and reviewing change requests
Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Civil Engineering
5-8 years of relevant experience (or 9-12 years of relevant experience without a degree)
U.S. Citizenship (required due to federal contract)
Experience in site/civil layout, roadways, and grading design
Proficient in CADD tools such as Civil 3D, Revit, or MicroStation
Skilled in technical writing, design analysis, and interdisciplinary coordination
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Preferred Qualifications:
Active security clearance
Experience with Department of Defense projects
Familiarity with procurement automation tools
Working knowledge of CSI Masterformat specifications or SpecsIntact
Design experience using Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide
