Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a mechanical engineer for Maritime & Strategic Systems (MSS), youll member of a cross functional team responsible for MSS mechanical packaging and documentation.

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: Assist and perform design and development in such areas as mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and use of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines and/or machines.

• Proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and accompanying drawings
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards with regard to mechanical engineering concepts, principles and theories

• Following standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained

• Ability to learn and apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

• Good written and verbal communications skills

• Good ability to recognize and clearly report relevant information

• Showing initiative on assignments, and professionally executing projects with little direction

Salary Note This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
