Basic Function

The Senior Electrical Engineer operates and leads research and development at the team level. This role is responsible for the research, design, and development of capital systems products to ensure a successful product launch. This position will be focused on the electrical design of systems that meet customer requirements based on input from research, marketing, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing departments. This position is responsible for complying with the Imricor Quality Management System requirements and carrying out responsibilities as outlined in the environmental, health, and safety policies

Location: Must be able to work at the office in Burnsville.

Compensation: The expected annual base salary range for this Minnesota-based position is $100,000-140,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's knowledge, skills, and or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, and Retirement Benefits).

Responsibilities

  • Led design and development at the team level to design, prototype, and refining concepts using engineering principles, human factors/usability, and design for manufacturability practices.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles in the design and evaluation of electrical components, enclosures, and systems.
  • Creates prototypes and conducts testing to ensure the design performs as expected.
  • Originates and/or reviews documentation including input requirements, design output, risk analysis, test methods, verification and validation plans/reports, and manufacturing processes.
  • Responsible for assessment of standards as well as agency testing.
  • Evaluate electronic components to ensure availability, performance, and cost requirements are met.
  • Consult and solicit feedback from internal stakeholders to identify customer needs and translate these requirements into designs. In addition, it provides support regarding product development to internal departments as it relates to electrical design.
  • Responsible for the successful launch of products through the product development process by working cooperatively on the project team with design assurance, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing. Create and execute change orders to document and implement changes.
  • Works with suppliers and manufacturing departments to ensure the final design is properly realized based on the design intent.
  • Defines and sets-up products in electronic document control software.
  • Prepares and presents technical information to a technical and nontechnical audience.
  • Provides training and work direction as required by technicians and junior engineers.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of product development process system knowledge through the delivery of high-quality deliverables.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or related field; master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the medical device industry
  • Advanced computer skills include experience with schematic capture and board layout (preferably Altium), circuit simulation, and Matlab/Octave.
  • Proficiency in circuit design and analysis, both analog and digital
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate concepts, ideas, and knowledge effectively and clearly to other individuals and teams
  • Experience with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Requires 5% travel.
