Saw Operator

Job Summary: The Operator will cut/bend pipe and, also will cut channel, angle. Also, operate pipe threading machines.

Functional Job Duties:

• Competent use of hand, bench, and machine operations to perform deburring, filing, grinding, and polishing on machined parts.
• Understanding of and ability to utilize a tape measure, squaring tools, electronic level, calipers, and micrometers.
• Understand tolerances for parts.
• Be able to read blueprints and understand tolerances for parts.
• Ability to operate machines at peak performance and know how to increase output.
• Accuracy with alignment, dimensional, and general inspection requirements. Perform first article inspections and spot inspections of parts to maintain quality.
• Interpretations of work orders, blueprints, and bills of materials. Complete and maintain paperwork.
• Configure bend allowances for pipe and tubing (stainless, aluminum, and carbon steel).
• Be able to prioritize jobs according to the schedule and willing to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience in a manufacturing setting operations using horizontal automatic band saws, threading machines, and various hand tools.
• Prior fabrication experience.
• Have the ability to do basic math and read a tape measure, and various other measuring devices .

• Must possess strong leadership, analytical thinking, effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with persons inside and outside of the company.
• Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations related to job requirements.
• Must be able to work under stress.
• Must be able to handle multiple priorities and maintain a heavy workflow.
• Must be able to process paperwork effectively.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to go up and down stairs.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must be able to do unaccompanied travel.
• Must be able to tolerate shop environment and exposures associated with welding and industrial equipment manufacturing, and apply appropriate safety equipment when required.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Must not present a risk of injury to self or others while engaged in company duties.
