The Plant Management Site Support Services/Distribs (S3D) Electrical Utility Support Group (EUSG) operates within the Facility Management organization of WTCC and is responsible for configuration and change management of power to support both ongoing construction, commissioning, and start-up testing as well as the daily operation of administrative and temporary buildings. The EUSG performs design, inspections, field support to both electricians and subcontractors, and develops work documentation for maintenance, modification, and new construction. The Electrical Field Engineer will report to the EUSG Lead Electrical Field Engineer.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

  • Provide technical interpretation and assistance to Civil Superintendents and crafts

  • Supervise and coordinate work activities of civil field engineering staff as assigned.

  • Perform inspections of work in progress on a continual basis and complete final checkout of excavations, backfills, and new installations to ensure quality and conformance to specifications and codes.

  • Perform takeoffs, initiate and track field purchased material requisitions.

  • Coordinate with Engineering to resolve technical and drawing issues.

  • Coordinate with vendor Technical Advisors as required.

  • Coordinate with Engineering to resolve drawing issues.

  • Inspect materials during the receiving process to ensure they meet project standards and drawings.

  • This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC.

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering or related discipline from an accredited university and 0-2 years of progressive construction related experience including, but not limited to DOE experience, work package preparation, excavations, structural, testing.

  • Associates degree in civil engineering or related discipline from an accredited school with 2-4 years of experience.

  • In lieu of degree, High School Diploma and 4-6 years of progressive civil construction related experience including but not limited to DOE experience, work package preparation, excavation and backfill, maintenance or related experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous WTP, DOE, or DOD experience, construction a nuclear facility.

  • Knowledge of and experience working with Bechtels Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs) or Bechtels Nuclear Work Process Procedures (NWPPs).

  • Knowledge of Bechtels Zero Accident Safety Program and familiar with current industry standards.

  • American Concrete Institute (ACI) certifications.

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

  • Detailed knowledge of AISC and ACI codes.

  • Experience working with USA Building Trade Unions and craft professionals.

  • Previous experience using MicroStation or another CAD software package to develop or edit drawings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship

Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site .

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $68,644.55 - $101,584.72 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
