Managing and motivating a team of 23 crew members, you will provide on-site guidance, delegate tasks efficiently, and maintain a productive, safety-first work environment. Project tasks include building stone retaining walls, installing interlocking stone features, grading, planting, turf installation, and overseeing softscape installations to ensure precision and aesthetic appeal. You will also be expected to install and troubleshoot low-voltage landscape lighting systems, adding the finishing touch to beautifully designed outdoor environments. From the initial layout to final touches, you will oversee all phases of landscape construction and ensure each job is completed to the highest standardon time and within scope.
This leadership role requires excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to represent the company with professionalism when interacting with clients. You will be expected to resolve on-site issues, provide exceptional customer service in a polite and courteous manner, and keep clients informed of progress when necessary. Other responsibilities may be assigned based on project needs and your skill set, so flexibility and a willingness to contribute in multiple areas is essential.
To be considered for this position, candidates must have proven experience in the landscape construction industry, with a minimum of three years preferred. You should possess strong team management abilities and be confident in your ability to read construction drawings and work from detailed plans. A solid understanding of plant materials and landscape equipment is required, along with a genuine interest in the horticultural and construction fields. Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a can-do attitude are all key attributes were looking for. A valid G Drivers Licence with a clean drivers abstract is mandatory, and having an A or D license is a definite asset that will be strongly considered.
Working conditions for this position involve being on-site at customer properties throughout the workweek. You must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, twisting, and standing for extended periods of time. Daily driving is required as you travel to and from job sites.
