Carpenter

Fabricate, construct, and repair structural woodwork and wood products by following blueprints, drawings, and oral instructions, using carpentry tools and equipment. Produce carpentry products and services by following standards and procedures. Making necessary adjustments. Determine material requirements and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated by studying blueprints, sketches, or building plans. Anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies. Prepare layout by following carpentry procedures. Construct, repair, and install structure or fixture by marking cutting and assembly lines on materials. Shaping materials to measurements. Must have own tools. Using carpenter's hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery. Comply with federal, provincial, and local building codes by adhering to requirements. Advising management on needed actions. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Ensures operation of carpentry equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements. Attention to health and safety procedures. Possess a current, valid, driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
