Pipe Welder**

Prevailing wage contract job located in Portland, OR at Columbia Boulevard Waste Water Treatment Plant!
We are hiring experienced Pipe Welders to join our team for the construction of a new water treatment plant. This role is ideal for welders who specialize in TIG welding stainless steel Schedule 10 piping and are comfortable working in industrial or large-scale commercial environments.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications.
+ TIG weld stainless steel Schedule 10 piping with precision and consistency.
+ Cut, bevel, and prepare pipe sections for welding.
+ Perform fit-up and alignment of pipe joints.
+ Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of welds.
+ Collaborate with pipefitters and other trades to ensure proper installation.
+ Assist in rigging and positioning pipe sections for welding.
+ Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
+ Maintain welding tools and equipment in good working condition.
+ Support testing and commissioning of welded systems.
**Qualifications:**
+ Proven experience TIG welding stainless steel piping (Schedule 10).
+ Familiarity with industrial piping systems and standards.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld symbols.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
+ Good communication and teamwork skills.
+ Knowledge of safety standards and welding codes.
+ Welding certifications (e.g., ASME, AWS).
+ Experience in water treatment or similar industrial projects.
**Environment/ Shift:**
+ This position involves working outside in the elements and partially inside for some installations of new lines. It is a prevailing wage job with a 4-day, 10-hour shift schedule (Monday-Thursday, 6am-4:30pm). Currently, there is no overtime for this project, which is expected to last 3-4 months, though it may be extended due to delays.
