Job Description
As a Systems Design Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing system engineering and system commissioning support for automation control projects of fired equipment, eg. Burners, Ovens, Furnaces, Heaters.
This is a remote role, preferably located in PA or OH.
Your Responsibilities:
Analyzes customer's requirements to determine the optimal control system solution and determines applicable hardware and software control configuration/architecture
Performs conceptual hardware & software systems design, determination of control system strategy to meet customers' requirements while complying with industry codes/standards and assure that personnel/machinery safety practices are implemented
Performs software development and design of custom application software
Oversee integration of 3rd party hardware and control systems
Write technical specifications and project reports as required
Visit 3rd party suppliers and/or panel shops to assess progress, provide technical assistance and carry out inspections
Lead the technical planning and direction of internal and customer system testing
Takes ownership of issues, capable of engaging all levels of the organization to drive issues to resolution
Provide on-site control system commissioning as required
Function as the sole Lead Technical Engineer on small to mid-size projects and provide technical oversight to other Engineers on the project team
Develop and recommend corrective actions
Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system.
Identify, analyze and resolve program support deficiencies.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
Bachelor's degree
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The ability to travel 30% of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
5+ years of relevant experience
Experienced with Rockwell Automation control controllers; ControlLogix/GuardLogix
Ability to develop programs with RSLogix and View software
Knowledgeable of NFPA 85, 86 & 87
Experience with AutoCAD electrical
