Job Description

We are SLR Consulting (US), a 500+ coast-to-coast team of advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. As our new mid to senior-level Transportation or Civil Engineer, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

  • The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $120,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Role will be responsible for analysis, planning, design, permitting, as well as preparation of plans, specifications and technical reports.

  • Manage small to large scale transportation engineering projects
  • Provide oversight on projects and serve as a technical resource
  • Perform analysis and prepare design calculations
  • Prepare contract documents, including plans, specifications, and estimates
  • Perform quality review of highway, civil and traffic design calculations and contract documents
  • Participate in meetings with clients and project team members
  • Assist in business development with MaineDOT and other public and private sector clients

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (Maine preferred or ability to get reciprocity)
  • 6+ years' experience in Transportation Engineering required
  • Demonstrated experience in federal, state (ME preferred), and local permitting processes
  • Experience in managing small to large projects
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, knowledge of MicroStation or interest in learning a plus
  • Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized, and able to effectively manage time
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Independent, critical thinker with strong analytical ability, commitment to high-quality, and follow-through
