Welder Mechanic Job Description The Welder Mechanic is expected to have a solid understanding of welding various types and thicknesses of metals and hand tool operation. They should also be knowledgeable about the use of fabrication equipment. Responsibilities Manually load and unload product onto work tables up to 25 lbs. in weight. Operate a forklift. Perform welding with TIG, MIG, and stick welders. Use common hand tools for fabrication of products, including power drills, die grinders, hammers, and porta-bands. Utilize shop equipment for fabrication of products, including shears, press brakes, drill presses, bench grinders, and Do All saws. Essential Skills Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding. Experience in fabricating and building with various types of metals. Ability to operate and understand fabrication equipment. At least 2 years of welding experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with operating forklifts. Capability to handle manual loading and unloading of products. Work Environment The position operates within a production and fabrication environment that is non-temperature controlled. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of LA VERGNE, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
