General Construction Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for supporting the Corporate Quality Manager and performing project specific Quality Assurance functions.

Essential Functions

Assist the QA Manager in the Administration of the Project Specific Quality Plan:

Report to the Quality Assurance Manager on the performance of the project quality plan and provide recommendations of improvement

Identify the need & the development of Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)

- Conduct and document the QA/QC activities

- Communicate to FAW & Subcontractor construction personnel what constitutes acceptable & discrepant and/or nonconforming work, identify quality issues and report them utilizing the Procore Management software, develop surveillance checklist as applicable

Create and Report Quality Observations:

- Initiate & determine the participants necessary to address Quality Observations

- Identify Quality Nonconformance

- Coordinate consultation efforts with the CM/Architect/Engineer to identify nonconformance & investigate their root cause and remediation

- Determine if a quality observation requires immediate corrective action or if the report is actually Work in Progress

Evaluate disposition of identified Quality Observation and determine if remediation is acceptable

Perform follow-up reviews to confirm remediation of Quality Observation is resolved

Evaluate the status of Quality Observations regarding customer complaints

Confirm a nonconformance is corrected

Manage the Quality Observation database

Punch-list:

Manage the Procore Punch-list data base

Perform jobsite walk through and create punch-list items

Coordinate with Subcontractors the correction / completion of punch-list items

Identify re-occurring items on Punch List and take action with contractors

Perform all other duties as assigned

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements

Microsoft Windows - intermediate to advanced knowledge

Microsoft Office - intermediate knowledge

Viewpoint - intermediate knowledge

Bluebeam - intermediate knowledge

Physical Requirements

Lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying items up to 50 lbs. or more

Ability to perform a variety of construction tasks in all areas and aspects of the project including but not limited to scaffolding, platform work, confined spaces, and exposure to outside elements

Must be able to see well, naturally or with correction and coordinate the movements of eyes, hands and fingers

Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders and scaffolding

Standing and/or walking for long periods, often times over uneven or unpaved ground

Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling or working at heights as required

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Construction Manager or equivalent degree

Associate's degree with related certificate or experience

Skills and Knowledge

Strong organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

Ability to work with computer software programs

Working Conditions

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and may be done on a surface environment, at extreme heights, underground or above or under water

Work requires sustained physical effort, frequently under adverse weather conditions and/or disagreeable working conditions

Exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock

Noise levels are typically moderate to very loud

Due to varied conditions, workers must know the hazards and safety requirements of each job and must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies for every situation.
