- Perform civil and/or structural design duties as stand-alone projects or as part of multi-disciplined projects.
- Assist project managers in developing estimates, schedules, material lists, design concepts, and design drawings, adhering to customer and corporate guidelines.
- Conduct field work and technical research.
- Maintain project files and documentation using document control databases.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all deliverable products and services within assigned responsibilities.
- Track and comply with scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Perform field work in industrial environments to collect design information and verify tie-ins, function, and clearances.
- Provide temporary field support activities for engineering support during construction when assigned.
- Assist engineers with cost and material estimates and preliminary design studies.
- Interface directly with clients.
- Check the accuracy and quality of drawings.
- Civil/Structural Engineering degree from an ABET accredited undergraduate program.
- Experience in structural, civil, and industrial engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, ETABS, and concrete design.
- Knowledge of civil and structural material specifications for material purchase, fabrication, and construction.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Preferred coursework in AutoCAD, Revit, 3D CAD, Advance Steel, RISA 3D.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.

Join a team consisting of one Department Manager (PE), one professional engineer (PE), two engineers (both PEs), and one structural designer. The smallest team in the firm collaborates closely with mechanical, process, and electrical teams. This is an in-office position from Monday to Friday, located in Midlothian, VA, near interstate 288 and route 360.
