Transportation Design Engineer
Job Description

As a Transportation Design Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing design plans and specifications, performing quality assurance and quality control checks to ensure designs meet company standards, interpreting specifications and drawings, and recommending changes with documented modifications. You will work alongside the design team to contribute to Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects, as well as County and Municipal Transportation Projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review design plans and specifications.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control checks.
  • Interpret specifications and drawings.
  • Recommend changes and document modifications.
  • Collaborate with the design team.
  • Design for various transportation projects.
Essential Skills
  • 6+ years of experience in transportation design.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation or Civil 3D.
  • Experience in QA/QC for planning and report reviews.
  • Knowledge of ADA, guardrail, MFT, path design, IDOT.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • State (rural or urban) design experience.
  • Local (rural or urban) design experience.
  • Signal design expertise.
  • Guardrail design proficiency.
  • ADA design capability.
  • PATH design skills.
Work Environment

The role includes an 80% office environment and 20% fieldwork. The company advocates for work-life balance and offers a flexible working schedule. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $59.61/hr.
