Our ideal candidate for Marine Electrician is a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, with the ability to troubleshoot, disassemble and inspect electrical equipment, motors and motor controls. We are looking for a hard-working team player who strives to do their best work every day.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Minimum of 5 years marine and/or industrial electrical experience

Skilled in 480 and 208 VAC 3 phase systems

Skilled in the use of test equipment (Megger, VOM, Amp-meters, etc.)

Experience in troubleshooting, repair and installation of motors and motor controls

Able to clean electrical equipment and parts, reassemble, and operationally test equipment

Knowledge of electrical systems such as switchboards, switchgear, distribution panels, controls, etc.

Versed in the use of common electrical measuring instruments, and of various electronic measuring devices, such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, power analyzers and megohmmeters

Cable of cable run fabrication and wire way fabrication

Must be able to obtain/maintain security and base access clearance, and obtain TWIC Credential

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and certification

Minimum of 5 years marine and/or industrial electrical experience

Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and shipbuilding practices

Previous exposure to fleet operations or maritime platforms is preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift 60 lbs. without restriction. Position involves lifting, pulling, and operating heavy equipment and objects.

Agility to bend, stoop, or squat, and climb high steps/ladders frequently.

Physical dexterity and strength to operate deck machinery; work on equipment that is poorly accessible or in confined workspaces.

Must be able to keep balance/equilibrium while performing duties at various heights.

Ability to work in confined spaces for prolonged periods of time.

Adequate hearing & vision ability.

Proper heat/cold tolerance, working in all weather conditions.

Comfortable working while exposed to grease, dirt, paint, water, etc.
