Construction Superintendent

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent for community solar projects throughout Illinois. These projects, ranging from 1-2.5 MW, require a dedicated individual to manage day-to-day operations and administrative duties on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and administrative duties on-site.
  • Report daily progress and safety updates to the Senior Construction Manager.
  • Oversee sub-vendors on-site and collaborate with foremen from sub-vendors.
  • Enforce safety and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Set daily and weekly productivity standards for contractors and subcontractors.
  • Develop a three-week look-ahead schedule and coordinate with the Senior Construction Manager to ensure adherence.
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries with the logistics team and subcontractors.
  • Review blueprints, project plans, and specifics daily.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in construction management, preferably in commercial electrical or civil projects.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience managing sub-vendors.
  • Proficiency in PDF, Word, and Excel.
  • Computer savvy.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • OSHA 30 certification (assistance available for renewal).
  • Experience in solar projects.
  • Electrician or electrical experience.
Work Environment

The work environment is a solar construction site with a company trailer. You will work alongside various electrical and civil subcontractors. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, standard construction hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime requiring prior approval. The dress code includes construction attire such as jeans, a t-shirt, and proper personal protective equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
