Job Title: Construction Manager

Job Description

The Construction Manager will plan, organize, and direct activities related to the construction of structures, facilities, and systems. This role involves conferring with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction problems. The manager will support project delivery strategies, schedule projects in logical steps, and budget the time required to meet deadlines. Responsibilities include coordinating project procurement, selecting contractors, assisting with contract paperwork, and managing changes. Additionally, the manager will oversee QA/QC quality control plans, safety management plans, building permit processes, and compliance with codes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct construction activities.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel and other stakeholders to resolve construction issues.
  • Support project delivery strategies and schedule projects efficiently.
  • Coordinate project procurement and contractor selection.
  • Assist with contract paperwork and management of changes.
  • Coordinate QA/QC quality control plans and oversee safety management.
  • Oversee building permit processes and ensure compliance with codes.
  • Participate in weekly construction meetings and prepare progress reports.
  • Review contractor applications for payment and recommend payments.
  • Review contractor change order requests and recommend approvals.
  • Support the development of cost reports for the client.
  • Coordinate punch list preparation and project close-out.
  • Perform other necessary duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field plus four years of relevant experience.
  • Eight years of construction supervisory experience as an equivalent to a degree.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Proficiency in navigating Web-based construction management software.
  • Experience in setting meetings, organizing agendas, and keeping project minutes.
  • Thorough understanding and utilization of Information Technology including Internet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in managing large-scale building programs is preferred.
  • Experience in managing sports, recreation, and/or hospitality projects is preferred.
  • Preferably experienced with sports, recreation, or hospitality projects.
  • Experience with ground-up construction of new four-story buildings.
  • Experience with renovation of Tennis Stadium suites.
  • Involvement in a four-year program duration and $850M project.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $74.51/hr.
